How It Works

Bright Minds Photography sets up a professional studio right at your church. We bring all the equipment — lights, backdrops, and props — so families don't need to travel anywhere. Sessions are scheduled in advance, typically in 15-20 minute blocks over several days or weekends.

What to Wear

Coordinate your family's outfits with solid colors or subtle patterns. Sunday best is a great starting point, but don't feel limited to formal wear. The most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable and confident. Earth tones, jewel tones, and classic neutrals photograph beautifully.

During Your Session

Each family session takes about 10-15 minutes. Our photographer will guide you through several poses — traditional family groupings, individual shots, and some fun candid moments. We keep things light and relaxed, especially for families with young children.

Ordering Prints

After your session, you'll have the opportunity to view your images and order additional prints beyond what's included in the directory. Many families use this as their annual family portrait — two birds, one stone!

The Finished Directory

Once all families have been photographed, we compile the portraits with the information your church provides into a beautifully designed printed directory. Each participating family receives a copy.
